How English People View The Super Bowl
“Apparently there was some sort of sporting event for not very fit people yesterday. You know the one I mean – where they stop for several minutes to catch their breath every 90 seconds or so and the time has to be filled in with TV adverts.”
As someone who generally doesn’t care about sports, I found this to be really funny. Yay, England!

This article about a would-be Large Hadron Collider saboteur needs to be made into a movie. If Warner Bros. can turn a Reddit thread into a movie, they certainly can do that for this.

“Last night, I spoke before a group of gay journalism students at Columbia and was surprised to find that one of their top concerns was that Kim Kardashian brings down our culture! I was amazed that serious Ivy League students even devote brain cells to thinking about the Kardashian clan. But I was also taken aback that they didn’t realize that 15-minute “famous for the...

Really tempted to split a week between British Ales and Belgian Ales with a train ride through the Chunnel in between.
I live where the British ales are!
True story: I originally thought you misspelled “British Isles” but then I realized that I should probably get another cup of coffee.
The Only Way Is Dalston →
Dalston is the neighborhood where I’m living right now. It’s full of hipsters and Turkish people, and apparently they’re casting a Real World-esque reality TV show that’s going to take place there. HAAA. I can’t wait, especially if this guy makes it on.
Vice: What do you feel you could bring to the show? Sharlon: We’ve been looking at Dadaism, and how Dadaism as a...

Dear Attack Of The Show,
I did not get my Masters in Internet Memeology, or focus on “the evolution of viral communication on the Internet”. I’m not quite sure where you got that one from (although it does sound quite fancy). Thanks for crowning me Queen of the Internet, though. That was nice.

Also, I am old, should not be wearing pigtails, did not actually write my dissertation, and am destined to be a “comunity college professor”.
Hilarious comments aside, the point I was making is that internet memes have been largely ignored in academia so far— not that they are dismissed by everybody. Obviously not, since I made the same exact point that Adrian Chen did about...

So, things have been getting interesting over here in London. The first bit of news is that I finished my dissertation a few weeks ago. LOLCats: officially studied in an academic context. Masters coursework: officially over.
Second bit of news is that, provided that I didn’t fail my Masters (I get my grades Nov. 18th ugh SO LONG TO WAIT), I will be eligible for a Post-Study Work Visa that...

I added NOTHING useful to this focus group. But it was still fun to be part of LOLCATS royalty.
