Apparently, Gawker thinks I'm going to be rich
Also, I am old, should not be wearing pigtails, did not actually write my dissertation, and am destined to be a “comunity college professor”.
Hilarious comments aside, the point I was making is that internet memes have been largely ignored in academia so far— not that they are dismissed by everybody. Obviously not, since I made the same exact point that Adrian Chen did about Cheezburger Networks being valued at $30 million. But then, of course, I couldn’t be painted as a wily ad woman looking to ruin teh awsum of teh internets with my nefarious digital strategery plans!
Anyway, I hope Gawker’s predictions come to pass; unforch, thanks to my student loans, I think “rich” will elude me for some time.
UPDATE: Time Magazine does not make fun of my pigtails.
