This is why working in advertising can be so incredibly frustrating. Even if the creative team has a beyond-brilliant idea, if the client has no vision (or, like one of my previous clients, is a former chemist who decided that getting an MBA and going into marketing was a more lucrative path) those ideas will either be flat out rejected or diluted beyond recognition.

After seeing those bizarro Seinfeld Microsoft ads for the first time, I seriously wondered if the original concept or script was a million times better than the  final execution. Just because it’s directed by Michael Gondry doesn’t make it good.
