So, for a really long time, I’ve wanted a dog. My whole life, actually. My mother never let me have one as a child, because she assumed (correctly), that the dog would end up being her responsibility. I never got one when I lived in New York because I was rarely ever home. Now that I’m living in LA with a dog-loving boyfriend to share the responsibility and care, in an apartment with more space and a dog park across the street, I decided that it was time for me to fulfill my lifelong dream of dog ownership.

So I did.

Meet my dog, Mr. Baxter Gentleman.

We adopted him from the West LA Animal Shelter (which is a beautifully maintained shelter with tons of adorable animals) yesterday, and picked him up about 2 hours ago from the vet. He just got fixed this morning (poor little guy), which is why he’s wearing a Collar of Shame. We aren’t 100% sure, but we think he’s a Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix (otherwise known as a PomChi, ChiPom, or Chiranian). He is the sweetest little guy, and we are so thrilled to have him, and cannot wait to take him to foggy London Town.

So, give a big Tumblr welcome to Baxter Gentleman! He’s going to be showing up quite a bit around these parts.
